The "county sector daily" emissions reports include US emission totals by county, sector, and day for all CAPs. For most sectors, these reports are generated from daily county reports output by the SMOKE program Smkmerge. The report includes emissions for every calendar day in the year. For sectors with representative day processing, emissions from representative days are copied to all calendar days based on the representative day mapping. For example, emissions for all Saturdays in a month = emissions for the representative Saturday. For the afdust sector, emissions are post-adjusted. Since the Smkmerge daily reports are pre-adjusted, daily emissions for afdust are approximated using a combination of annual post-adjusted county totals and hourly gridded emissions. Specifically, daily county totals are estimated from the hourly gridded emissions, and then, since county totals can only be approximated from gridded emissions, normalized so that annual county totals match the actual annual county totals from other reports. For the onroad sector, the SMOKE program Movesmrg does not give daily emissions totals, but weekly emissions totals, based on our SMOKE-MOVES configuration in which Movesmrg is run one week at a time rather than one day at a time. Since daily emissions are not available from SMOKE, daily onroad emissions are approximated using the same method as afdust, using a combination of actual annual county totals and hourly gridded emissions. Related to those reports, the "county sector average summer weekday" reports include average daily emissions among all summer weekdays by county and sector. These reports were developed from the county-sector-daily reports by averaging the daily total emissions from all weekdays between 5/1 and 9/30. Based on requests from the modeling community, only CO, NOX, and VOC are included in the average summer weekday reports. Both sets of reports have been generated for all four years in the 2016 v2 platform (2016fj, 2023fj, 2026fj, 2032fj). The emissions units in all of the daily reports are tons/day.
