The zips in this directory include emissions inventories from the 2017 NEI, as of 7 May 2020. Descriptions of the zip file contents are provided here. -- biogenics -- 2017NEI_biogenics_20200427.zip includes biogenic emissions from 2017 NEI in FF10 format. Includes monthly data. -- nonpoint -- 2017NEI_nonpoint_full_20200507.zip includes the raw NEI for all nonpoint sources as a single file. It does not include updates to afdust that are included in the sector-specific afdust zip. It also does not include the change to np_oilgas Tribal Data which is included in the sector-specific np_oilgas zip. 2017NEI_nonpoint_sector_*_2020*.zip includes the NEI nonpoint inventory split into modeling platform sectors. - For afdust, a meteorological adjustment that was included in the NEI emissions totals for paved and unpaved roads was removed from the inventory. The full nonpoint dataset includes this adjustment, but the sector-specific dataset does not, since that adjustment is re-applied during emissions processing. As of 4 May 2020, a separate emissions update affecting paved and unpaved road emissions is included in both the full dataset and the sector dataset. - For np_oilgas, we have reassigned Tribal Data emissions to Colorado so that the emissions will be gridded and modeled, since we do not have spatial surrogates for Tribal Data. The full nonpoint dataset has these Tribal Data emissions assigned to the original Tribal FIPS. - The nonpoint emissions for agfire, cmv_c1c2, and cmv_c3 are not used directly in modeling applications, in favor of more spatially and temporally resolved daily or hourly point source data. - The following sectors have been updated after 27 Apr 2020: agfire, nonpt, np_oilgas. -- nonroad -- 2017NEI_nonroad_20200427.zip includes the inventories used for emissions modeling. These inventories match the NEI, except that some additional pollutants are included which are not part of the NEI; also, mercury is separated into components (200, 201, 202) rather than aggregated into "HGSUM" (7439976) as it is in the NEI. These inventories include monthly data. The zip also includes nonroad emissions submitted to the NEI by Tribes, in annual FF10 format; the Tribal data is not included in emissions modeling. -- onroad -- 2017NEI_onroad_20200427.zip includes annual emissions assigned to the same SCCs that are used by the NEI. It is split into three parts: CONUS (Lower 48) excluding California, California only, and non-CONUS (Alaska, Hawaii, PR, VI). Onroad emissions submitted by Tribes, which are not modeled, are also included as a separate file in the zip. The non-Tribal onroad emissions are in a simple CSV format (county, SCC, pollutant, value). Most emissions modeling platform releases include an FF10-formatted dataset of monthly onroad emissions using more detailed SCCs from the modeling platform. That dataset will be provided at a later date. -- point -- 2017NEI_point_full_20200427.zip includes the raw NEI for all point sources as a single file. 2017NEI_point_sector_*_20200427.zip includes the NEI point inventory split into modeling platform sectors. -- fires (events) -- There are four zips corresponding to wildland fire emissions: ptfire_2017NEI_AK_FF10.zip, ptfire_2017NEI_CONUS_CAPS_FF10.zip, ptfire_2017NEI_CONUS_HAPS_FF10.zip, and ptfire_2017NEI_HI_FF10.zip. These include Alaska, Lower 48 CAPs, Lower 48 HAPs, and Hawaii, respectively.
