National Atlas Wilderness Boundary for Boundary Waters Canoe Area

The USFS bowa wilderness boundary was extremely detailed wilth many islands and inholdings and was not well-suited for creating a receptor file. The nationalatlas.gov boundary was well-matched to the outer bowa boundaries and easier to use in the receptor data file process. All the available data was obtained from the Alan Smart with the USFS Air Resource Support office in Corvallis, OR. The data originated from the USFS Rocky Mountain Research Station, Aldo Leopoldo Wilderness Research Institute in Missoula MT. The data was used as is with the exception of Boundary Waters Canoe Area. This area had an extremely detailed boundary with many islands/inholdings. This boundary was not well-suited for creating a receptor data file and the nationalatlas.gov wilderness boundary was used instead. The national atlas outer boundaries matched the USFS outer boundaries very well so there was little, if any, loss of recpetors.
