This package is an addendum to the previously published 2016 version 1 platform and includes newer datasets for future year EGU emissions. This package includes ptegu_summer and ptegu_winter inputs and scripts for two emissions cases, 2023fh1_16j and 2028fh1_16j. These sectors are intended to replace the same sectors from the originally published 2023fh_16j and 2028fh_16j cases. This package includes new seasonal inventories, hourly CEMs data, updated ancillary files (CEMSUM and PTREF), and run scripts. Updated sector merge scripts are not needed because the ptegu sectors do not create any low-level gridded emissions. Merged emissions from the original 2023fh and 2028fh cases can be reused for the 2023fh1 and 2028fh1 cases. == Zeroing of NOX emissions for certain sources == After processing of 2023fh1 and 2028fh1 was complete, it was discovered that for any source/hour where the heat input, steam load, and gross load are all zero in the hourly CEMs data, SMOKE will set all emissions to zero for that source/hour, even if the CEMs NOX or SO2 for that source/hour is not zero. This resulted in dropped emissions, NOX in particular. For the 2023fh1 case, an alternative set of CEMs is available in the inputs/cem_fixed/ directory. These alternative CEMs do not include any source/hours where heat input, steam load, and gross load are all zero, ensuring that no NOX emissions are dropped. A similar 'fixed' set of 2028fh1 CEMs may be provided at a later date. For those wishing to fix the CEMs themselves, a list of the affected sources is provided in the following Excel workbook: "2023fh1 2028fh1 NOX load drop summary.xlsx"
